Nadine Shah - Holiday destination

Holiday Destination is the third studio album by British singer and songwriter Nadine Shah, released in August 2017. The album was produced by Ben Hillier, who also plays drums in Shah’s live band

The album explores themes such as the refugee crisis, Islamophobia, nationalism, and the rise of the far-right. Shah, who is of British-Pakistani and British-Norwegian descent, draws from her own experiences of racism and discrimination, as well as the stories of people she met or interviewed

The album received critical acclaim for its bold and uncompromising lyrics, its dark and atmospheric sound, and Shah’s powerful and expressive voice. The album was nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2018

Some of the standout tracks from the album are Out the Way, a defiant anthem that challenges the notion of belonging and identity; Mother Fighter, a tribute to the women who risk their lives to protect their children in war zones; and Holiday Destination, the title track that exposes the hypocrisy and indifference of the privileged towards the plight of the refugees
